• AA Platinum: $140
• AA Platinum Pro: $180

To extend your status for another 4 months, you'll need to earn enough Loyalty Points:

• Gold: 10,000 Loyalty Points.
  
• Platinum: 25,000 Loyalty Points.
  
• Platinum Pro: 42,000 Loyalty Points.

There are 3 phases in total, during each 4 month phase, you can earn Loyalty Points through any qualifying activity with American and non-flying partners to meet this requirement. Loyalty Points earned from cobranded credit cards also count.

For instance, if you purchase the Platinum upgrade, and you earned 30,000 Loyalty Points in the first 4 months (first phase), your Platinum status will be extended for another 4 months, and the rest 5,000 points will roll over to second phase.  That means you'll only need to earn 20,000 more Loyalty Points in phase two to keep Platinum status. 

If you complete all 3 phase requirements, you'll enjoy status through the current and following membership years.

So, for instance, if you begin on Jun 20, 2024, and complete all three phases by Jun 20, 2025, your status will be valid through March 31, 2026.
